Recovery Of An Artist's Life

You may have noticed I've been missing for a while.
It's been a long road and I am no where near the end. I was organizing my studio for a long season of painting. A project I had put off for much too long...

Suddenly Life through me a whammy. I found myself in the ER, having emergency surgery...only to wake up minus one gallbladder, now having Diabetes as well as Lupus...and being on Oxygen for how long no one knows.

I have spent the last three months virtually bedridden, healing and trying to work out all the odd medical quirks that have gone with this sudden change in my life. I can not even begin to explain to you other artists what it is like to even wonder if you can sit up long enough to paint or draw. Or to try and figure out how to get an extra oxygen tank for your studio. Or if your talent will even still be there when you are fully ready to get back...which they tell me could be a year.

I want my life back. I want to paint. That is the gift God granted me, and it is what I am going to do. So I am going to TRY to go back to painting a small painting each day. I know some days I will not be able too, as they are full of DR appts. or I am unable to get out of bed. But I am going to try. I am going to begin with doing complimentary studies using just two colors as I can bring a few things into the house and set up a small area to work.

I know of no other way to help my recovery along as an artist. So I am back to the beginning.
Painting a NEW mile of canvas.
